Benefactors

Contributions to the Society maintain special long-term research and education programs. If desired, these may be defined by benefactors as acknowledged legacy contributions to a specific project or aspect of the Society's mission. Such contributions in the form of donations or bequests have been of substantial significance in the life of the Society.

Contributions

The Society's publications, educational programs and scientific investigations are supported primarily by membership fees and donated funds from members, fellows, patrons, founders, benefactors, and other friends of the Society.

Monies and property given or bequested to the Society are applied by the Board of Trustees strictly to the purposes for which the Society has been incorporated. The Society is a nonprofit organization, and gifts made to it are deductible for income tax purposes.

The form that such donations should take when by will is the following:
"I give, devise and bequeath to the American Society for Psychical Research,Inc., a corporation organized under the laws of the State of New York, the sum of......dollars for the corporate purposes for said Society."
